WMU organized Oil Spill Risk Management conference in March 2011 together with the International Maritime Organization. The volume includes a selection of papers presented during the conference addressing the topic of oil spill risk management and the preparedness and readiness of national jurisdiction, offshore and shipping industries. The conference brought together key stakeholders from across the globe to provide an opportunity to discuss topics from risk assessment to advances on oil spill contingency planning, mitigation, and response.
